How much does it cost to place an ad?

I forgot my username and/or password. How do I login to my account?

Click here to reset your account. After you submit your email address you should receive an email with instructions on how to reset your account. Please make sure "sales@sellwhatyouwant.com" is on your safe list.

Why should I log into my account every time I visit your site?

To modify your account, place an ad, or save an ad, you have to be logged into your account. You can setup your browser to automatically login each time you visit SellWhatYouWant.com. At the log in screen, check the box "Remember my ID" and you will be automatically logged in every time you visit SellWhatYouWant.com.

I can't register an account. What should I do?

SellWhatYouWant.com uses cookies as a way to store visitors' preferences, to record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit, to customize web page content based on visitors' browser type or other information that the visitor sends. For more information about enabling cookies and how it affects your privacy click here. SellWhatYouWant.com does not use cookies to track which websites you visit in accordance to our terms and conditions.

How do I place an ad?

Can you place an ad for me?

We can place an ad for you. Send us a message with details about your ad.

How do I renew my ad?

Under the "Main Navigation" sidebar click on the "My Account" link and click the browse your listings link. Click on the upgrade link and choose "Yes" for the renewal option. A renwal fee may apply depending on which advertising package you initially chose.

Note: Your ad may not show up immediately since we screen new ads before they appear on the site.

How do I make my ad more visible to potential buyers?

You can upgrade your ad by bolding, highlighting, or featuring your ad to make it more visible to potential buyers. Under the "Main Navigation" sidebar click on the "My Account" link and click the browse your listings link. Click on the upgrade link and choose "Yes" for any of the upgrade options.

Note: Depending on your advertising package you may have these upgrades already.

How do I add or remove pictures?

At the "browse your listings" page click on the modify button and then click on the "modify images" link to add or delete pictures.

Why am I not receiving any emails from SellWhatYouWant.com?

AOL

Current versions of AOL are now blocking email based on several parameters. These include specific keywords, links in emails, and multiple mailings in a short time frame. It has become very difficult to determine what they consider to be spam. Please be aware of this and take a look at the "Spam Controls" feature in your mail settings. AOL has a default feature that permanently deletes all blocked messages. In order to be sure that you receive all email, it would be best practice to change this setting to "Deliver all blocked messages" to your Spam folder and check your Spam folder on a regular basis. If your version of AOL offers a safe list, add sales@sellwhatyouwant.com to the list to ensure you receive all emails important to your account.

Other email services and filters

Yahoo, Hotmail and other web-based email services typically don't block emails from SellWhatYouWant.com but they may move it into a different folder.

Hotmail may move suspected spam mail to your junk folder. Messages more than 5 days old will be automatically deleted from the junk email folder. Review the messages in this folder from time to time to insure only mail you don't want in your Inbox is delivered here. Tell the junk email filter which messages you'd prefer to have delivered to your Inbox by using the checkboxes and then clicking the "not junk" button. If you add sales@sellwhatyouwant.com to your contacts, all your emails will get through.

Yahoo! mail will deliver suspected spam to your bulk mail folder and delete the messages after one month. If our message ends up in your bulk email folder, report messages you want in your inbox that were delivered to your bulk folder using the "not spam" button. If you add sales@sellwhatyouwant.com to your contacts, all your emails will get through.

Please check your bulk or junk folders for messages from us.

Outlook and Outlook Express typically do not have issues with confirmation emails from us.

Why do some of the pages look funny?

SellWhatYouWant.com was designed to work with all the major web browsers. If you are using an older version of a web browser, you should upgrade to the latest version to avoid any issues with the website.

Is placing an ad on SellWhatYouWant.com safe and secure?

SellWhatYouWant.com features a 256-bit SSL encryption. This technology helps protect your identity when entering information on our website. When you pay for your ad it is automatically processed through Authorize.net which is the largest and most secure payment provider online.
